Maintenance Methods

The working environment of wind turbines can be extremely harsh and may encounter various complex weather conditions, so regular inspection and maintenance are required to maintain the normal operation of the system. In order to avoid unexpected losses, it is recommended to remove the wind turbine or brake in advance before the storm or other bad weather. During maintenance, be sure to stop the wind turbine, and do not approach the rotating blades.

1.1 Maintenance plan

1 Check the blades and stent for rupture, abnormality, or imbalance, such problems may lead to reduced blade efficiency. If found, it should be replaced in time.  √    
2 For the lubricating grease on the bearing.           
3 Check whether the bolts and nuts on each component are installed and fastened, tighten them if they are loose, and replace them in time if corroded or lost.    
4 Check all cables for broken, broken, corroded or poor contact, replace or rewire if found.    
5 If there is a paint loss caused by climate reasons, the paint needs to be repaired in time.      
6 Tower inspection. Check whether the connection part between the tower and the foundation is loose and tighten it in time. This inspection should be performed several times during the first 3 months of installation, and also after high winds.    

Suggestion: In order to ensure the excellent power generation efficiency of the wind turbine, the company suggests to replace the wind turbine blade, bracket and the internal bearing of the wind turbine every 5 years, and the best performance has been obtained.

1.2 Common main faults and solutions (off-grid)

Fault phenomenon Causes Solution
The starting wind speed wind turbine does not rotate or the speed is slow 1. The wind blade is not installed correctly. 1. Adjust it according to the design requirements.
2. Leaves were unbalanced, or the individual blades were overweight. 2. Statically balance the wind blades according to the technical requirements.
3.Generator startup resistance torque is large. 3. Check the motor resistance torque, find out the cause and eliminate it.
4. Generator output circuit is short circuit or connected to the load. 4. Determine the short-circuit location; remove the load.
5. Tower pole is not vertical or the rotating bearing is too tight. 5. Strathe tower rod; check the bearing for damage.
6. Check if the battery is fully charged or defective
When the battery is saturated, the system will brake the wind turbine. In the case of battery power loss, the BMS lock, the wind turbine cannot operate.
6. Measure the battery voltage with a multimeter and treat it according to the actual situation. Eliminate the automatic brake fault due to the battery saturation. Power loss: you need to charge the battery.



The wind turbine vibrates violently

 
1. Looblades, bracket and flange fixing bolts. 1. Check and replace the loose bolts.
2. Abnormal wind blades and stents. 2. Check and replace the damaged blades or stents.
3. Power failure of the wind turbine output line. 3. Gradually check whether the three-phase output is balanced.
4. The rotating bearing is loose or damaged. 4. Position them tight or replace the new products as required.
5. The wind turbine runs at super rotation speed. 5. The load can be increased appropriately according to the actual.
6. The tower rod cable is loose or the floor screw is loose. 6. Check and replace the new cables; tighten the loose part bolts.



There is an abnormal noise during the wind turbine operation

 
1. Loofasteners of each part of the wind turbine. 1. Identify and replace the loose fasteners.
2. Three-phase imbalance in power output. 2. Check and exclude each line.
3. The wind turbine bearing is loose or damaged. 3. Identify and replace the new bearings.
4. The parts in the casing are loose. 4. Disassemble and overhaul by professionals.
5. The super rotation speed of the wind wheel causes resonance. 5. Timely stop and check the reasons.
6. Wind wheel friction with other parts. 6. Check and eliminate the causes of friction.

The blade rotates but the generator does not generate power without voltage
 
1. The stator or rotor coil winding is damaged Professional personnel shall remove the generator and check and repair it. It is strictly prohibited to remove it without permission
 
2. Transmission line break and short circuit

Insufficient battery output capacity
 
1. The generator output voltage is too low or does not generate electricity. 1. Wind speed is too low. Exclude according to the above inspection.
2. Battery wiring pillar of acid corrosion, poor conductive. 2. Clean the connection to make good contact, tighten firmly, and coated with protective grease.
3. Battery failure. 3. Replace the storage battery.
